What we collect

Only what you type into a form on this site: your name and email, and optionally your business name, phone number, a few answers about your request, and your message. The free self-checks run entirely in your browser; your answers are not sent to us or saved anywhere.

What happens when you send a form

Our web server (hosted by DreamHost) takes your submission and immediately sends it as an email to our Green Orb inboxes (newrequest@green-orb.com and a second Green Orb staff address) using the server's standard mail function. We do not store form submissions in a database or in files on the web server. To slow down spam, the server briefly keeps a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of the sender's IP address and the time of the request, never the form contents, and discards it within about an hour. The emails sit in our business email (Google Workspace), where we use it to reply to you.

Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard technical server logs (for example IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and operations. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers.

How we use it

To answer your request and, if you hire us, to do the work.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for their marketing. We do not share mobile phone numbers or texting consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information is handled only by the services we need to run the business (our web host and our email provider), or if the law requires it.

Text messages

This website does not send text messages, and our forms do not sign you up for texts. If we text you, it is one-to-one about your request. See our SMS Terms.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep inquiry emails as long as we need them to serve you and keep reasonable business records. Ask us any time to see, correct or delete what we have about you.

Security

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and the date above.
